[Save That Date] - LOYISO GOLA: Life & Times + Win Tickets

Stop what you doing now! South African Comedy Award Winner, comedian Loyiso Gola is going to celebrate his tenth anniversary in South African comedy with his hit show, Life & Times.

Many years ago, as a young man from humble beginnings in Gugulethu, Cape Town Loyiso came to Johannesburg to pursue a seemingly impossible dream of becoming a comedian. 10 years later he is now an award winning comedian and recognized as one of the most gifted comedians of his generation.

With his sharp wit, unmistakable charm and thought provoking comedy style, Loyiso Gola has been enthralling, mystifying and entertaining audiences for an entire decade.

In Life & Times an older, more enlightened and insightful Gola will bring to the stage some of his most celebrated material amassed over a decade of performance which will also be interwoven in a narrative that will include content about the events and people who have shaped the country and the world we live in over the past 10 years. Given his affinity towards frank and observational social commentary as well as a politically satirical angle that has been richly honed by his outspoken television show, this live show is bound to boldly go where no other comedian has gone before (or dares to for that matter!).

In the same way that comedy audiences have come to know the prodigiously talented Loyiso Gola, he will look to blow patrons away with his tear-jerkingly funny stories and hard hitting punch lines. The show will be a multimedia comedy extravaganza that is set to make people see Loyiso Gola in a way that they have never seen him before – an epic event.

Online Shoe Shopping Tips

There's quite a few online stores around selling all kind of things, and shoes are one of them! You  practically want to buy every shoes you laid you eyes on because the picture looks stunning! Most of the time you can also find good brand shoes online, which look amazing and affordable too! But often we will ask ourselves, how do you know if the shoes is a good buy if you can't even try the shoes on. Well Jasapple got some tips to share about online shoe shopping!

There is a wide range of online shopping platform out there, internationally you can go to Amazon or even ASOS. Or you can shop at South Africa online stores such as ZoomHabitsErrol Arendz or even BidorBuy. These online stores should have a safe payment system and sound distribution process. It should be easy as step 1,2,3 - you see something you like, place an order, pay with card, or transfer, klaar. Try to avoid something that you still need to "correspond with seller for confirmation" or any complicated procedure.

Online stores should also have a minimum of seven-day period for goods return (from the day you received the items), for items that have not been worn if you didn't like them, or they are defective. So look out for "return or exchange" policy.

Try not to buy shoes that look "difficult" to wear. You can never go wrong with sandals, pumps and wedges. Avoid really really high heels, pointy shoes, long boots and hard looking "leather" shoes, unless, of course, you are so crazy about them that you won't regret buying without trying it on.

Top best buying shoes online:
Zoom Alysha pumps

Errol Arendz Pammy wedges - camel

Melissa Vivienne Westwood Button Boots from Habits

Converse All Star Hi-Red from RandOutfitters

Avoid this at all cost!

Unless you are pretty damn sure that it fits like a glove! vias

Happy shoe shopping!

The Script...Simply Fantastic!

Last Sunday, my friends Cyn and Mike and I saw Irish band The Script at the Grand Arena. I’ve been to a LOT of concerts/live shows, 30 Seconds to Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry and many more. It is just so amazing to watch your favourite songs performing live. And I think it is safe to say that The Script ranks in my top 5 best concerts ever.
Crazy Fans at Grand West

The talented and energetic sister duo, The Arrows opened up the concert with some of our favourite sing-along songs like Love Sick.

The Arrows Opening for The Script

And later The Script bounded onto stage with the moving You Won’t Feel a Thing followed by Talk You Down and then their first big hit, We Cry. Energetic (and undeniably cute) frontman Danny O’Donoghue dominated the stage and often joining the crowd on the ground, and even took photo with some lucky female fans with their cameras!

The Script Trio: Mark Sheehan, Danny O’Donoghue & Glen Power

Swoon!! (By the way - love you jacket too!)

And then the crowd starts to sing-along with the catchy If You Ever Come Back. The excitement continued through with For the First Time then brought the night to a climax with the massive hit Breakeven.

I am so going to Karaoke to bolt off some of their songs this weekend!

On the Ball Communication presents the Boston T Launch Party which was held on Thursday 23rd June 2011. The night delivered nothing short of a fashion extravaganza, a lovely venue, pumping music from Goodluck and beautiful people. The DJ opened up the night with sexy sounds as delicious sushi and complimentary welcome bubbly were served to the guests. Berry Goveia from Berry G Fashion stepped up on the runway to welcome guests and introduce the fashion show. Models took to the runway in beautiful and glamorous evening wear.

adidas Originals Store Opening

Last Thursday I had an opportunity to attend the adidas Originals Store Opening at Canal Walk Shopping Mall for a full retail experience at its latest flagship store.

This will be SA's third adidas Originals store, which started trading on the second weekend of June and will sell men's, ladies and kids footwear, apparel and accessories. This includes the latest Originals Blue collection complimented by a first ever denim offer men and women, Jeremy Scott (my favourite) and David Beckham designer collaborations, and adidas x Ransom footwear.

The opening party reinforces the message contained in the adidas "all in" brand campaign that was globally launched in April 2011 - to breathe, feel and embrace the brand. It is a brand not just for the sport players but also about street lifestyle - maybe in the field of music, fashion, lifestyle, skateboarding and so on.

To reward all the adidas fans out there, there will also be a chance to win R1000 voucher at the new Originals store! All you need to do is take a cool pic at the store showing your passion for Originals and send to @adidasZA on Twitter before Friday, 1st July 2011 12pm. Or alternatively purchase any adidas product at the new store and stand a chance to win R2500 worth of Originals product. Or you can do both! So get crazy!

And check out what I've bought from the store this weekend! Definitely in love with the punk style!

Pop Culture Ice Cream

This is quite cool. The art collective Stoyn (Google Translate) made molded ice cream treats of pop culture figures, including Mario Bros., Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. I would definitely would like to try the Banana Choc Donald Duck and Strawberry & Cream Marilyn Monroe!

Ink Removing Printer

We use a printer to print stuff, but here is a concept that does the reverse process - removing ink from the printed paper! It is like a dermatologist laser-burning blemishes and dark spots from your skin, the Ink Remover Printer have the same propose; it zaps out the ink using laser technology. Then you can reuse the old papers to print new ones. Another way to reduce waste! Quite a cool concept, hopefully it will be out in a few years time!

“Bilbao” Tree Shelf

Sebastian Errazuriz (1977), born in Chile and currently living in New York, is probably one of the most talented young artists today. By doing little alternations to everyday items he manages to create the most unusual products and fashion pieces that provoke both thought and humor.
